Heather is a native to Colorado Springs. She began dancing at the age of seven and quickly fell in love with ballet. Heather was the first dancer to win the Florence Ruston Medallion as the best overall dancer twice at the Denver Ballet Guild Young Dancers Competition. She also participated in YAGP where she won first in the classical category multiple years at the Denver regionals in her age category and went on to the finals in NYC.
After graduating high school, Heather began her professional ballet career as a guest artist with the Joffrey Ballet in Chicago and then went to dance with the National Ballet of Canada in Toronto. During her time with NBOC, she received the RBC Emerging Artist Award for her performances during the 2016/17 season. The award recognizes dancers for their artistic growth, professional development, and exceptional talent.
Heather returned to school to pursue her dream of becoming a physical therapist. She returned home to Colorado Springs to attend UCCS where she met her now husband, Noah. They also added Ollie, a mini golden doodle, to their family. She then went on to attend the University of Iowa for her Doctor of Physical Therapy. She feels lucky to have returned to her hometown to provide care to the community she grew up in.
Heather’s philosophy of care revolves around her mission to provide high-quality care with respect and empathy, as well as to empower her patients in their journey to reach their goals and maximum potential. She feels it is important to approach care in a holistic manner that is individualized to each person. Her care also includes a smile, along with education. Heather is currently pursuing her Schroth certification to better treat those with scoliosis.
Outside the clinic, Heather enjoys spending time with family, rock climbing with her husband, walking Ollie, and watching hockey. She also loves teaching ballet and attending performances.
