Jacob was born in Waynesville, NC. Coming from a small town, he played almost every major sport growing up. He finally settled on distance running after showing up to the wrong track practice. He competed in cross country and track and field through high school and during half of college. After leaving competitive sports, he reignited his love for road running and the outdoors through fishing.

Jacob graduated from Lenoir-Rhyne University with a degree in Exercise Science, then pursued his doctorate of physical therapy (DPT) at Western Carolina University (WCU). This allowed him to stay close to home and enjoy the Appalachian mountains for a few more years. Additionally, this allowed him to travel over his last year of schooling to determine where he wanted to move and start his professional career.

Since graduating from WCU with his DPT, Jacob moved across the country to begin working as a physical therapist at CISM. While working, Jacob takes the time to really get to know his patient’s. He wants to know exactly what they want to get back to doing, and help them accomplish that in the safest manner possible. A holistic approach is his preferred method of working with patient’s as he believes that an injury does not define a person. Over the next year, Jacob plans to continue learning to better serve his patient’s.
